Hello,me and my team Lizzette and Leslie are doing the coral reef. Each of us are going to put 3 paragraphs and videos per person based on the CORAL REEF. This video will be about adventures of the beautiful Coral Reef.I hope you enjoy these 3 videos about these beautiful creature in the ocean!!!!

1.)Coral reefs are some of the most diverse ecosystems in the world,

housing tens of thousands of marine species.

About one-third of all marine fish. Species live part of their lives on coral reefs

2.)Often called "rainforests of the sea", shallow coral reefs form some of the most diverse ecosystems on Earth. They occupy less than 0.1% of the world's ocean surface, about half the area of France, yet they provide a home for at least 25% of all marine species,[1][2][3][4] including fish, mollusks, worms, crustaceans, echinoderms, sponges, tunicates and other cnidarians.[5] Paradoxically, coral reefs flourish even though they are surrounded by ocean waters that provide few nutrients. They are most commonly found at shallow depths in tropical waters, but deep water and cold water corals also exist on smaller scales in other areas.

3.)The sun is the source of energy for the coral reef ecosystem. Plant plankton, called phytoplankton, algae and other plants convert light energy into chemical energy through photosynthesis. As animals eat the plants and other animals, energy is passed through the food chain. Reef building corals work together with microscopic algae, called zooxanthellae, that live in their tissue. The zooxanthellae provide oxygen and food to the coral through photosynthesis. The coral polyp gives the algae a home, and the carbon dioxide it needs through respiration. Besides zooxanthellae, algae and seagrasses are the main types of plants in the coral reef ecosystem. These plants give food and oxygen to the animals that live on the reef.

Hello, my and my team are doing the coral reef. These are my three videos.

The coral is alive because of the polyps that live inside them. Coral are related to jellyfish and sea anemones. Sea anemones spend their whole life In one place. As polyps die, more coral grow on top of them. The coral pile together and form giant reefs that is the basis for 25% of all ocean life.

Coral reefs provide habitat for creatures. Stone looking, coral reefs are actually a plant. They start as tiny polyps. They grow half a inch a year. The greatest collection of reefs is located off the northeast of Australia, the Great Barrier Reef. Coral ree have been evolving for over 500,000,000 year, but now they are under theat.

The Great Barrier Reef is more than 2,000 kilometers long. The Great Barrier Reef is like an underwater city, where billons of creatures live. It has more than 70 types of habitats, which has so mich marine life. The Great Barrier Reef has more than 100 different types of coral.
